Electricity Market Design: Commission launches consultation on reform to support a clean and affordable energy transition
Today, the European Commission is launching a public consultation on the reform of the European Union's electricity market design to better protect consumers from excessive price volatility, support their access to secure energy from clean sources, and make the market more resilient.

Share of renewables in transport decreased in 2021
In 2021, the share of renewable sources in transport reached 9.1% at EU level, a 1.2% decreased compared with 2020. The target set for 2030 by the EU directive on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources is 14%.
