The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) and Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) are hosting a technical stakeholder workshop on the review of the Governance Regulation on 11 January 2024 (14:00 to 17:00) in Brussels.

Article 45 of the Governance Regulation requires the Commission to report to the European Parliament and to the Council on the functioning of the Regulation within 6 months of each ‘global stocktake’ under the Paris Agreement (with the first global stocktake due at COP28 in December 2023). The Commission is currently preparing the review report.

ICF, a consultancy, was contracted to support the Commission in this work. ICF will present preliminary results of their analysis that will feed into the evaluation. This will be an opportunity to learn about the preliminary findings and to provide further input and insights to the evaluation work.

The event will gather representatives from the Commission and other EU institutions, Member States’ delegates as well as other stakeholders (e.g. academia, NGOs, industry, consumer representatives, trade unions).

This event is on invitation only and will take place physically in Brussels, but it will be possible to follow the event via web streaming (no online intervention is foreseen).
