The expertise centre brings together over 140 experts from the energy sector and related fields, it monitors key trends and provides actionable, data-driven insights to help policymakers, institutional actors and other stakeholders meet the targets of the European Green Deal.
It does so while ensuring long-term sustainability, affordability and competitiveness for citizens, businesses and industries.

Objective
Building on the foundation of its predecessor, EnTEC2 uses a multidisciplinary approach to analyse emerging trends and innovations across energy, mobility, buildings, digitalisation and the circular economy. Its work bridges research and industry, fostering knowledge exchange to ensure European companies remain agile and competitive in a fast-evolving energy landscape.
To support this mission, EnTEC2 applies a systematic framework to identify energy-relevant challenges and engage leading researchers, both from within the consortium and across its wider expert network. Its work includes exploratory studies on emerging trends and in-depth analyses of specific issues, accompanied by robust policy recommendations.
Study team
EUREC represents Europe’s renewable energy research community to EU institutions and, will oversee and implement both exploratory and in-depth research projects for EnTEC2. With its members leading research groups across Europe, EUREC is involved in all renewable energy technologies, as well as supporting areas such as energy efficiency, storage and integration.
