EUSEW 2024: How to participate in the Commission’s largest event on sustainable energy

© European Union, 2023

The 2024 European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the 18th edition of Europe’s largest annual conference on renewables and energy efficiency, is being prepared under the title: Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe. The conference will focus on the importance of implementing climate neutral solutions and technologies to rapidly achieve the EU’s energy transition. A second major focus of this edition will be on cities – demonstrating the role they can play in driving positive change.

EUSEW will take place from 11 to 13 June 2024 – mark your calendars!

The policy conference comprises high-level plenaries, policy sessions, the EUSEW Awards, the fifth European Youth Energy Day, as well as opportunities to forge connections with the EUSEW community at the Energy Fair. At the heart of the conference concept, energy stakeholders can play an active role in the conference by organising policy sessions that contribute to energy-related debates. The call for policy sessions is open until 19 January 2024. Each policy session should explore one of the below thematic areas

  • net-zero technologies (energy technologies and solutions, raw materials, competitiveness, small and medium sized enterprises, etc.)
  • cities and citizens (local leadership, Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs), energy affordability, inclusion, energy communities, behavioural changes, etc.)
  • renewables (permitting, tendering, community participation, technologies, renewable energy in transport, renewable energy in industry, etc.)
  • energy efficiency (reduction of energy demand, energy performance of buildings, products, industry, transport, financing, heating and cooling, heat pumps, etc.)
  • international cooperation and decarbonisation (Green Deal measures, National Energy and Climate Plans, Emissions Trading System, COP29, etc.)

Check the guidelines for more information on organising a session.

Other ways to get actively involved in EUSEW 2024 include

  • applying for a EUSEW Award (the call is open until 1 February 2024)
  • having a stand at the Energy Fair (the call will open on 16 January 2024)
  • registering to organise a Sustainable Energy Day anywhere in the world (the call will open on 13 February 2024)
  • becoming part of the next cohort of Young Energy Ambassador (the call will open on 30 January 2024)
