Participation of Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, and Kadri Simson, European Commissioner, in the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2024

From tomorrow, the European Commission is hosting the European Sustainable Energy Week, a 3-day policy conference dedicated to the clean energy transition which gathers policymakers, industry, NGOs and consumers from across Europe and beyond. It is the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and energy efficiency in Europe.

As Europe strives to implement the European Green Deal while making sure that industry remains competitive on the global stage, this year the theme of the conference will be 'Net-Zero competitiveness driving the EU energy transition'. Participants will be able to exchange on initiatives to accelerate the decarbonisation of the EU's economy through clean technologies and solutions to ensure that the transition remains socially fair and that it goes hand in hand with industrial competitiveness.

Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, is opening the conference with a keynote speech tomorrow morning.
