The 20th anniversary of European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) takes place on 9 - 11 June 2026. For this occasion, the Commission is launching calls for applications, one is to host a policy session and the other is to nominate candidates for EUSEW awards.
The theme of EUSEW 2026 will be ‘A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union’. Apart from the traditional 7 plenary sessions and speeches, we expect around 50 policy sessions to take place, bringing together European industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, public authorities, and energy organisations. The event will take place both in person in Brussels and online.
EUSEW is the EU’s largest annual and well-established event dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency, attracting around 10 000 participants comprising of high-level stakeholders and policymakers. By hosting a policy session at EUSEW, organisations can take an active role in leading key policy debates and showcase their contribution to the clean energy transition while listening to the experiences of others.
The 2026 awards will again celebrate the people, projects, and initiatives that advance Europe’s transition to clean, sustainable and secure energy. The awards will be given out in 3 categories. 2 are recurring themes: Women in Energy and Local Energy Actions. There will also be a new focus: SMEs pioneering or enhancing energy efficiency through innovative business or financing models.
On 3 December 2025, 11.00 - 12.30 (CET), the Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) will organise an information session on the upcoming edition’s priorities, the selection criteria, and a presentation on ‘how to host a policy session’. No need to register, simply visit the page above on 3 December!
