Investors Dialogues on Energy webinar: Electricity Market Design

©Investors Dialogue on Energy

The Investors Dialogue on Energy (ID-E) will host its third webinar on the Electricity Market Design on Tuesday 28 March.

In the context of the energy market crisis seen in 2022, EU heads of government called on the Commission to work swiftly on the structural reform of the electricity market, with the dual objective of securing European energy sovereignty and achieving climate neutrality.

The European Commission recently launched a public consultation on the reform of the European Union's electricity market design to better protect consumers from excessive price volatility, support their access to secure energy from clean sources and make the market more resilient. The reform aims to swiftly provide added value to EU citizens and companies during the ongoing crisis and the 2023/2024 heating season.

Based on the public consultation, the European Commission has been working on amending the below-listed pieces of legislation and presented its reform proposal on 14 March 2023:

Join the discussion with Tom Howes, Advisor for Green Transition and Market Regulation from Directorate-General Energy, European Commission as he takes the participants through the main elements of the Commission proposal, implications for investments and next steps moving forward.

What is the ID-E?

The Investors Dialogue on Energy (ID-E)is a multi-level stakeholder platform that brings together experts from the energy and finance sectors in all EU countries. Their aim is to assess and upgrade financing schemes to mobilise financing in the context of the European Green Deal and REPowerEU.
