Background
The European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition is an initiative launched by the Commission in late 2023. It brings together the Commission, EU countries and financial institutions to make it easier to invest in energy efficiency and to help scale up private financing to meet the EU’s 2030 and 2050 energy and climate targets.
The Coalition will be instrumental in mobilising more funding for energy efficiency, in supporting the competitiveness of European businesses and ensuring the most cost-efficient clean energy transition. Ultimately, the outcomes of the Coalition’s activities should bring tangible benefits to consumers and provide for active engagement of European citizens in the energy transition.
