Why we are consulting

Results

The public consultation received a total of 103 submissions with additional submissions by email; 15 of these came from Member States. Contributions from individual respondents who agreed to the publication of their replies are available here.

The responses informed the Commission's evaluation and Fitness Check of existing planning and reporting obligations as well as into the Impact Assessment underpinning the proposed Regulation for the Governance of the Energy Union. An extensive summary of the public consultation is included as part of the Impact Assessment accompanying the proposed Regulation.

Results

Objective of the consultation

To ask all interested parties to i) provide information which could be used in the context of the evaluation of the existing planning and reporting obligations of the EU energy acquis; ii) express an opinion on the possible options to streamline the current framework in the light of better regulation and reduced administrative burden; iii) indicate preferred options for the new governance of the Energy Union.
